Vivian Irene Martinez
 

I have been a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language for the last19 years and have worked with students of all levels. I have a diploma from the teacher training school for secondary education at the University of San Carlos , Guatemala and endorse by The Ministry of Education, Guatemalan Tourism Institute and the Loyola Business school. I have also studied Agronomy and received a teaching degree from the University of Rafael Landivar and graduated in 2001.

Besides teaching Spanish I also am a professor in the University and teach courses in Language, communication strategies Ecology and the history of Guatemala.

In addition to teaching here at Celas Maya, I am a member of the academic committee at Celas Maya. As a member of this committee we focus on the innovation of teaching methodologies,resource materials and teacher training, which is an ongoing endeavor.

I was born and have lived my life in Quetzaltenango . I grew in a time when there was no democracy in Guatemala. It was a confusing time to grow up and it took some time to answer many questions in my mind. It created a strong interest for me about the history of Guatemala.

Additionally I have an interest in the environmental issues and I am involved in environmental education.

I am continually innovating my methods of teaching so that I can offer my students the greatest opportunity for learning success.
